My Process
With my process we’ll be able to work effectively and efficiently — helping us design a beautiful and intuitive app while getting to market quickly.
02
Pre-Project Process
We’ll have a 15-30min call to discuss your vision, goals, needs, timeline, and budget. We can do a brief demo if you have an existing app. I can sign an NDA beforehand if needed.
I’ll prepare a proposal covering the overall mission, goals, deliverables, duration, and cost. This is a collaborative process where we work together to refine the scope to match your needs.
Once we have a final proposal, I’ll prepare a formal agreement to sign which includes everything from the proposal along with any needed terms/conditions, payment schedule, and detailed specifications. Once signed, we’ll then have a kickoff meeting with key players from your team to get everyone aligned and excited about where we’re heading.

Design Process
My process contains 5 key phases: Foundation, Research, Design, Validate, and Handoff.
Since each project is different, I tailor my process to match what’s needed — staying as nimble as possible without cutting corners.
In this crucial first step, we'll define the app's key features. I also like to ask questions like, "how will this app improve people's lives?", "how will we differentiate our app?", "what does our app empower people to do?", "what will make our app sticky?", and "what are the core (and secondary) features of our app?".
At this step, I look at a spectrum of your app's competition to better understand what they do well, where they fall short, how your app will compare, and how I can make you stand out.
I also research the people that will use your app - understanding their needs, goals, and anticipating any potential frustrations.
At this step, I also create a Customer Journey Map or Flow Diagram illustrating how people will navigate the screens - ensuring nothing is overlooked or left to chance.

This is where the magic happens to bring all the previous steps to fruition. Using wireframes, design principles, personas, goals, and branding I design the user interface of the app itself to be beautiful, effortless, and intuitive.
Careful thought goes into the use of colors, icons, fonts, microcopy, down to the words we use in a given button or error message. Oftentimes the UI designs are converted into interactive prototypes to better experience how the design will be brought to life.

With a design in hand, I gather feedback from internal stakeholders and potentially even early adopters. Because we're working off a design, we're able to quickly iterate based on feedback and experiment with various executions without the costly and time-intensive process of redeveloping the app.
With the design at a point where your team can start development, I provide thorough communication to your team so they have the context they need to work efficiently and effectively — bringing the app to life as designed.
In some cases, clients ask me to stay involved as development is underway in order to audit and review the implementation of the design. This ensures we’re meeting the expected quality as things are developed and allows us to make any adjustments we discover along the way.
